Letters have been sent inviting people to register for the Public Panel on Care, giving members of the public the chance to help shape the future of adult social care.

Around 125 people over 18 will be selected to take part, bringing together people from different backgrounds and communities across England.

The Public Panel on Care will hear different perspectives and views, learn about the issues at the heart of adult social care reform, weigh trade-offs and ultimately work together to find common ground on the important questions: What is care? Who should receive it? And who should pay for what?

The Public Panel will meet in person over several weekends between November 2026 and April 2027 in Birmingham and London as well as convening for shorter online sessions.

The Big Conversation on the future of social care, which runs until April 2027, was launched by Baroness Casey in July.
