The General Medical Council (GMC) has given 36 courses formal approval to teach physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs).

A coroner has warned there is a lack of public understanding over the role of physician associates (PAs) after the death of a patient whose family believed they had been seen by a doctor.
