South East London ICB selects chief nursing officer

Diane Jones is to join NHS South East London as chief nursing officer.

Jones will join the ICB on a short-term secondment from NHS North East London, where she has been chief nursing officer since July 2022.

She has worked in the NHS since 1990 as a nurse and midwife and continues to work in clinical practice across local NHS trusts.

Jones has also worked as a specialist advisor for the CQC on governance, maternity and safeguarding.

She replaces Gwen Kennedy, who has been interim chief nursing officer throughout 2025 on a part-time basis. She will return to work full-time at NHS England London region.
