Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed the sale of the former Dartmouth and Kingswear Community Hospital.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund the £5.4m Dartmouth Health and Wellbeing Centre, which opened in May 2023.

The wellbeing centre brings community nurses, therapists, social care workers, Dartmouth Caring and a pharmacy together under one roof.

Chief executive Joe Teape said: ‘We are pleased to confirm the sale of the former Dartmouth and Kingswear Community Hospital.

‘The sale of the site was made on the open market, in line with the NHS Estate Code, and we are respecting the buyer's request to not be named.

‘We would like to thank Dartmouth Town Council and Charles Darrow property agents for their support during the sale process.'
