The strategy outlines how the trust will meet the national challenges set in the 10-Year Plan for Health, while also addressing challenges locally to help improve care and build sustainable services for the people.
Kim O'Keeffe, acting chief executive officer, said: ‘We're delighted to launch our updated strategy. This is our plan for the next 10 years, which sets out how we will improve care for our patients, support our staff and work with partners to build services that are sustainable for the future.'
Key areas of focus include: reducing waiting times; transforming urgent and emergency care; expanding specialist services such as cancer care and women and children's services; delivering more care closer to home through neighbourhood based services; and supporting staff and making Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust a great place to work.
The strategy also highlights the importance of digital transformation, research and innovation, and working closely with local partners and organisations to help people stay well and reduce pressure on hospitals.
