The software business was founded in 2016 to share digital health expertise and resources, improve outcomes in the NHS and lower the costs of health services.

Initially started by way of a collaboration of the NHS Foundation Trusts in the North East of England, Health Call provides patients with access to digital technology, giving them access to innovative solutions to support their care and provides staff in the NHS with digital tools to support the care and outcomes for their patients.

The deal will see the trust acquire software products to improve the management of healthcare data, enable NHS patients to manage appointments more easily and deliver care remotely into homes and communities.

The trust says it hopes that by acquiring this business it will be able to improve digital services even further and take an active role regionally and nationally in offering a Patient Engagement Platform that enables people to manage their medical appointments and clinical letters online.
