As part of the move, Professor Tim Orchard has taken on the role of group chief executive.

Professor Orchard said: ‘We are building on a long history of working together to strengthen our response to the opportunities and challenges ahead. By working more closely as a group, we are better placed to make the best use of our collective resources, expertise and influence for the benefit of our patients, local communities and staff.'

Bob Alexander has been appointed as interim chair after Matthew Swindells, who as the first chair enabled the successful development of the collaborative since 2022, has now stepped down.

The latest NHS league tables show improved performance across all four trusts, with three partners in the top segment and one in the second.
