The CDC has doubled its previous MRI capacity with the addition of two scanners funded by NHS England, as part of Imperial College Healthcare's wider estates investment programme.

David Tao, clinical services manager at Wembley Community Diagnostic Centre, said: ‘I am delighted that our expanded MRI service is up and running. This means we're able to offer more appointments to our patients with shorter waiting times.'

Wembley CDC formally opened in early 2024 and provides CT and MRI scans seven days-a-week and will now be able to provide almost 70,000 scans a year.

There are three CDCs in north west London. The Wembley and Willesden CDCs are run by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Ealing CDC is run by London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.
