Current services, operated by East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and private healthcare logistics provider EMED, make more than 13,500 journeys a month.

HTG will begin running NEPTS in Suffolk and north east Essex  from April 2026 for five years with the possibility of extending the term for an additional five years. The contract value for the whole ten years would be £123m.

Duncan Scott, senior contracts manager, NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB, said: ‘NEPTS play a vital role in providing access to treatment for thousands of our patients in the local area and we are working with HTG to ensure a smooth transition from our previous providers in April next year.

‘HTG's bid for the procurement of the new contract demonstrated their experience in effectively handling the complex logistics of these services, while at the same time offering high standards of patient care and consideration.'

Neil Berry, chief executive of HTG-UK, said: ‘We are incredibly proud to have been selected as the provider of NEPTS in Suffolk and north east Essex. As the current provider in Norfolk and Waveney and Mid and South Essex, we are excited to begin transporting many more service users across East Anglia.'
