Dr Donley, who has been chair since December 2024, has provided leadership and oversight during a period of significant change and challenge for the trust.
She said: ‘It has truly been a privilege to serve as trust chair over the last two years and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, as well as being hugely grateful to the dedicated staff, volunteers and partners who work tirelessly to provide high-quality care for our patients and neighbourhood communities every day. I have also really enjoyed working with my outstanding colleagues on the board.
‘After careful personal consideration, I have decided not to seek a further term. This feels like the right time to step aside and allow new leadership to support the trust through the next phase of its exciting journey."
Andrew Hines, trust chief executive, said: ‘On behalf of everyone at SASH, I would like to thank Anita for her outstanding commitment, leadership and support. Her guidance has helped steer the trust through some of its most challenging periods, with a clear and continued focus always on delivering the best possible care for our patients.
‘She has been a passionate advocate for our staff, patients and local communities throughout, and her contribution to the Trust will leave a lasting legacy. We wish her every success for the future.'
