Macsween, who has served as interim chief officer since November 2025, was previously chief officer of Partnership Services and Community Care.
Western Isles IJB is a partnership between NHS Western Isles and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, along with third and independent sector providers of health and social care.
As chief officer, Macsween will be responsible for leading the strategic planning of a range of health and social care services, including, dentistry, social care, community nursing, social work, community health services and some hospital services such as emergency departments.
