Scott, who is currently chief nurse at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, will be taking over from Jo Lynch, who is retiring after 32 years with the trust.

Scott, a dualregistered learning disability and mental health nurse, has a strong background in clinical practice and professional leadership. She led the Nursing Workforce Programme across North Central London and was director of nursing in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust.

She said: ‘I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues across the trust, together with people who use our services and our partners to build on the strong commitment to putting people at the heart of care. I am particularly keen to support and work alongside our colleagues whose compassion, professionalism and dedication make such a difference every day.

‘My focus will be to ensure everyone feels valued, listened to and empowered to work in partnership to do the very best for the people and communities we serve.'
