The Surrey Surgical Centre marks a major milestone in the collaboration between Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and the Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board.

Louise Stead, group chief executive at Ashford and St Peter's and Royal Surrey Hospitals, said: ‘The Surrey Surgical Centre is a great example of partnership working between hospitals in Surrey Heartlands. By working together and working differently, we can better meet the orthopaedic healthcare needs of our community. This centre will play an important part in helping us to reduce waiting times for surgery, and we know how important this is for local people. We are committed to providing the best possible care for our communities, and The Surrey Surgical Centre is a practical example of how we are working together as an Integrated Care System to do this.'

The centre features an expanded theatre complex with two new state-of-the-art laminar flow theatres, increasing surgical capacity for elective orthopaedic procedures such as hip and knee replacement surgeries.
