South Yorkshire ICB selects interim chief executive

South Yorkshire ICB has appointed Chris Edwards as interim chief executive until 31 March 2026, following the recent retirement of Gavin Boyle.

Edwards previously held the roles of executive place director for Rotherham and deputy chief executive since the inception of the ICB.

He is a graduate of the NHS management training scheme and has more than 25 years NHS experience in a range of organisations.

Edwards has spent over 20 years working in the South Yorkshire system, most recently taking on a joint role across Rotherham and Barnsley in 2020, after being appointed chief officer at NHS Rotherham in 2011.

He was previously seconded on a part-time basis into the South Yorkshire ICS in 2016.
