The deal will see PodDoc's at-home cardiovascular disease (CVD) test made available in more than 35 stores across Scotland and online.

PocDoc's ‘Healthy Heart Check' is a finger-prick test that delivers instant results and provides patients with a comprehensive cholesterol profile, body mass index score, NHS heart age, and a 10-year risk assessment for heart attacks or strokes.

Test results and overall cardiovascular health risk can be shared directly with GPs. This dramatically reduces the time it would typically take for an individual to arrange, undertake, and receive results back from a standard blood test.

Steve Roest, chief executive and co-founder of PocDoc, said: "CVD is the leading cause of death in the UK - however the majority of these cases can be prevented by earlier testing. Our patented technology7 helps individuals identify health issues sooner allowing for earlier intervention.

"Community Pharmacies like Dears and Amiry & Gilbride Pharmacy play a central role in communities across Scotland and have a great part to play in CVD prevention Through this partnership, we're providing an additional touchpoint for more individuals - especially those most at risk - to take easy, preventative action on their heart health, without the need to visit their GP."

Mahyar Nickkho-Amiry, managing director and superintendent pharmacist at Dears Pharmacy and Amiry & Gilbride Pharmacy, added: "At Dears and Amiry & Gilbride Pharmacy, we are committed to supporting the health and well-being of our communities, especially those individuals who are most at-risk or hardest to reach.

"We're delighted to partner with PocDoc to provide accessible, at-home cardiovascular screenings. We're proud to be part of this innovative approach to early detection, which is set to play an important step in the preventative care journey. The work PocDoc is doing has the potential to make a real difference in preventing heart disease and save thousands of lives across Scotland. We look forward to working with Steve and the team in the future."

The test is available online and in over 35 Dears and Amiry & Gilbride Pharmacy branches across Scotland, and is an ideal solution for patients seeking quick, accurate and accessible CVD diagnostics.

PocDoc's partnership with Dears and Amiry & Gilbride Pharmacy builds on its existing rollout across the UK within the NHS and major pharmacy chains, and follows PocDoc's partnership with Well Pharmacy earlier this month.
