The Scottish Government has unveiled an extra £4m investment to tackle dermatology waiting times.

The funds should enable 4,100 more dermatology outpatient appointments to be carried out this year.

Health secretary Neil Gray said: ‘We know that this is an area with significant backlogs, so by investing in increased capacity we hope to be able to reduce waiting times for this speciality.'

The new funding is on top of the £106m set out in the 2025-26 Budget for 213,000 additional planned appointments and procedures.
