The company already provides Northamptonshire's GP Out of Hours service and operates several urgent treatment centres in Loughborough, Chesterfield, Derby and Leicestershire.

DHU is also the largest provider of NHS 111 services in England, with its Urgent Care North services in Derbyshire rated outstanding by the CQC in 2023.

Paul Tilson, chief operating officer at DHU Healthcare, said: ‘We're delighted to have the opportunity to deliver quality, compassionate care to the people and communities of Corby.

‘Our focus is on working with local people, staff and partners to ensure we provide the right service for everyone. We've spent time listening to the existing team at the centre to understand their experience and insight into the community they serve. That local knowledge is invaluable in helping us build on what already works well and identify where we can make further improvements.

‘At DHU, our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We're proud to work collaboratively with our people and partners to deliver services that make our patients feel cared for, valued, and supported.'

Eileen Doyle, chief delivery officer, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB and Northamptonshire ICB, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome DHU to Corby and look forward to working with them to improve urgent care services in the surrounding area. We believe the partnership with DHU will bring real benefits to patients and look forward to working with local partners to further enhance services at Corby urgent care centre.'
