Axel Heitmueller has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Expert Adviser on Health.

Heitmueller will advise ministers and drive forward the Government's vision for health and social care.

He has extensive experience working in the healthcare sector as chief executive of Imperial College Health Partners and executive director of strategy at the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust Hospital.

In addition, Heitmueller brings a broad range of experience from academia and central government where he was deputy director and chief analyst at the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit in the Cabinet Office and No 10.
