Outstanding GP practice 'embraced learning and innovation'

A Hull GP practice that ‘embraced learning and innovation’ has been rated outstanding by the CQC.

Laurbel Surgery is run by Dr Navin Jaiveloo and provides services to around 3600 residents in Bilton.

Alan Stephenson, CQC deputy director of operations in South and East Yorkshire, said: ‘When we inspected Laurbel Surgery, we found a service that embraced learning and innovation to provide the best possible care to people.'

The CQC noted leaders continually sought to improve service delivery, embracing new technologies such as AI, by using feedback from both staff and people to reduce risks and enhance the quality of care.

The practice boasted significantly higher average customer satisfaction ratings with 87% of people reporting a good overall experience, 95% feeling their needs were met during their last appointment, 89% finding it easy to get through by phone, 95% and 92% finding it easy to get in touch through the website and NHS app, respectively.

Practice manager Susan Moody told HM: ‘The surgery is very pleased with the recent CQC report.

‘It is nice to receive appreciation and good feedback as to the service we provide for Bilton and surrounding Villages.

‘Dr Jaiveloo and myself, would like to thank all staff for providing exceptional care to the practice community.  The CQC report reflects the high quality of patient centred commitment of the entire team in providing good quality patient care.'
