The report, which is looking into around 2,500 individual cases, was originally planned for September 2025 but was postponed after up to 300 more cases for investigation were found.
Ockenden said: ‘The independent Review of maternity services led by Donna Ockenden at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will publish its report on Wednesday 24 June. The report will bring about both local and national learning, and will outline the necessary areas for development to ensure improved safety within perinatal services.
‘Following publication, my team and I will continue to have a role in overseeing the improvements made by the trust. We believe that this commitment will give families, staff and the trust reassurance that positive long-lasting change will be implemented in the way that was envisioned by the review team of clinical experts.
‘The trust have already shown their commitment to improvement, and have reported bi-monthly on their progress throughout the duration of the review.
‘We recognise this period of time may feel especially difficult for families and would like to thank them for their trust and continued engagement with the review since it began. Their voices are absolutely central to the review and through their courage they are making a difference to the safety of perinatal care.'
