NHS South Yorkshire chief to step down

NHS South Yorkshire’s chief executive, Gavin Boyle, is to retire and will step down from his role at the ICB in mid-October.

Boyle has led the ICB since its inception in 2022. He was instrumental in achieving the transition from the former CCGs to the new organisation and established the governance arrangements for the South Yorkshire ICS.

During his tenure, he led the development of a long-term strategy for South Yorkshire.

Boyle has worked for the NHS for more than 36 years, including 18 years at chief executive level.
