Moorfields selects new chief nurse

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Simmi Naidu as its new chief nurse and executive director of allied professionals.

Naidu is joining Moorfields from Barts Health NHS Trust, where she is deputy director of nursing at the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. She is also director for inclusion at The Royal London Hospital.

Naidu said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Moorfields, a hospital that is a leading force in ophthalmology and in delivering exceptional patient care.

'I'm joining at an incredibly exciting time as preparations begin to move to the new centre for advancing eye health in Camden in 2027.'

She replaces retiring Sheila Adam, who has served the nursing profession for the past 50 years.
