The trusts, which include West London NHS Trust and London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, have committed to the London Living Wage that is currently £13.85 an hour. Around 3,500 workers are expected to move to the rate.

Rob Hurd, chief executive of NHS North West London and North West London ICS, said: ‘It makes both moral and economic sense that NHS staff are fairly rewarded in line with the principles of Living Wage employment.'

The move comes after a two-year campaign by West London Citizens, the UK's biggest people-powered alliance.
