The collaborative, which was established in July 2022, consists of: Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust; Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust; London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust; and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Matthew Swindells, chair of all four NHS trusts that make up the North West London Acute Provider Collaborative, said: ‘The move to a group structure is a significant milestone in our collaborative journey — one that supports our ambition to ensure outstanding, equitable care for our diverse, local communities and empowers our people to lead and innovate together.

‘It is a natural evolution of the North West London Acute Provider Collaborative, where we have been bringing teams together to share best practice and innovation and make the most of our combined skills and resources. The move to a formal group structure will help us make decision-making clearer and simpler and make it easier to develop common ways of working across our hospitals.'

A group chief executive is expected to be appointed in autumn 2025 and begin in the role in April 2026.

They will lead on the formation of a group leadership structure, with each of the trusts retaining their own chief executive.
