The new contract from 1 April 2026, which includes an all-age eating disorder service, is for services covering all of Kent and Medway.

Chief executive at NHS Kent and Medway Paul Bentley said: ‘Children and young people will still see the same teams, in the same places, and should they need support into adulthood, they will have the opportunity to continue their care with KMPT, an organisation they are already familiar with.

‘One of our obligations as an integrated care board is to support our local economy, as well as being the right thing for service users, this step will do that.'

The contract award means the transfer of a number of services from North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) to KMPT, including: children and young people's mental health support; learning disabilities, autism and ADHD; primary care and home treatment. NELFT teams will transfer to KMPT to provide continuity of care.
