In a statement the business said it had completed the disposal of its elective care and corporate wellbeing subsidiaries and urgent care division to PHL Group.

A spokesperson for PHL Group said: ‘PHL Group is pleased to announce it has completed the acquisition of the trading subsidiaries of Totally PLC. The acquisition includes Totally PLC's elective care and corporate wellbeing subsidiaries through a share sale, and the simultaneous purchase of the business and assets of the urgent care division.

‘This acquisition brings together two trusted providers with a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and reflects our continued dedication to strengthening local healthcare services.'

PHL Group said the transition had been managed with NHS England and local NHS trusts and commissioners to ensure there was no disruption to patients with all existing services continuing to operate as normal.

The group said the 600-strong workforce would be retained following the move.

Ross Brand, chief executive of PHL Group, said ‘I am very pleased that we have acted quickly and decisively to bring our businesses together. This reflects a strong cultural alignment between our two organisations and most importantly, ensures continuity of care for patients while safeguarding a highly skilled and dedicated workforce who are passionate about caring for their patients.'
