Blackpool Teaching Hospitals has welcomed almost 200 new trainee doctors.

Some of the 165 trainees are joining the organisation for the first time or have returned to the trust to start their next rotation as part of their training.

The trainees will rotate into a new department at the trust or another trust across the North West every four months spending time working in medicine, surgery, and in community placements.

Chris Barben, the trust's executive medical director, said: ‘Blackpool Teaching Hospitals offers a rich and varied opportunity for colleagues joining us and I am sure this group of doctors will enjoy the experience as they become a key part of our team and help us build the medical workforce of the future.'

Dr Kate Goldberg, director of clinical and medical education, added: ‘We'd all like to offer a warm welcome to all the new doctors who have joined us and hope their time with us is fulfilling and rewarding.'
