The inspections of medical care and urgent and emergency care at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust also saw Frimley Park Hospital re-rated as good.

Helen Rawlings, CQC director of operations in the South, said: ‘During our inspection of Wexham Park and Frimley Park Hospitals, we found leaders and staff working together to embed improvements identified in previous visits. They demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering care that was safe, compassionate, and centred on the needs of the people they served, even during a period of heightened pressure on hospitals.'

Lance McCarthy, chief executive of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, said: ‘I am delighted with the fantastic CQC reports across urgent care and medical services at both Wexham Park and Frimley Park hospitals. To achieve these ratings, and the overall outstanding rating for Wexham Park, at a time of significant pressures on our services, is a huge credit to the dedication, passion and compassion of all my colleagues.

‘This continues to give us a very strong base on which to work with our health and care partners locally to continue to reshape the future of healthcare, through a culture of partnership and integration, an increased focus on care being provided closer to people's homes and on digital innovation.

‘I am very proud of the care we are providing and even prouder of the people who are delivering it every day.'
