The Refugee Employment Support App provides aims to make it simpler for refugees to understand available roles, connect with live vacancies, and access wider support from trusted organisations.

The app, already has more than 650 registered users, provides users with clear information on NHS job opportunities across entry-level roles, nursing and allied health professional roles and doctor and dentist roles.

In addition, the app signposts users to organisations offering specialist support to refugees navigating professional registration, language support, employment preparation, and career re-entry.

To ensure the platform meets the needs of refugees with a diverse range of skills and backgrounds, NHS Employers worked closely with British Red Cross, Breaking Barriers, Ukrainian Medical Charity, REACHE (Refugee and Asylum Seeker Centre for Healthcare Professionals Education), Building Bridges, Lincolnshire Refugee Doctor Project, REPOD (Resettlement Programme for Overseas Doctors), and ReSTORE (Refugee Support, Training, Orientation, Recruitment and Education).

These organisations contribute information on wrap-around support, training, and pathways into regulated professions.

NHS Employers is encouraging NHS organisations across England to:

  • share the app locally with resourcing teams, community partners, and organisations supporting refugees in your area
  • promote NHS opportunities through existing refugee employment programmes and local authority networks
  • engage with your regional contacts to identify opportunities for collaborative recruitment or tailored support.

The app can be downloaded on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
