Mona Hosny was found to have worked for other trusts between 4 February and 26 May 2022 despite agreeing to a voluntary restriction on her practice while subject to a Maintaining High Professional Standards Investigation at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service also found Hosny's performance was unacceptable in terms of maintaining professional performance and clinical management.

Hosny was first struck off from the GMC register previously in 2012 and restored in March 2020, on her second application.

GMC representative, Harriet Tighe, counsel said Hosny's fitness to practice history showed repeated findings of dishonesty.

Manjeet Shehmar, medical director and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: ‘Mona Hosny worked at NUH for a short period before an investigation began into her working practices. As part of this the trust referred her case to the GMC.

‘She has not worked at the Trust since 2022, did not practice independently with us and no patients were harmed during her short employment with us.'
