NUH said 15 final written warnings and two first written warnings have also been issued.
Dr Manjeet Shehmar, medical director at NUH, said: ‘We will continue to investigate inappropriate access to these records and take action as and where necessary. Alongside this, we are doing all we can to educate our staff on appropriate access and how to keep the records of our patients safe. We are also introducing a new system which acts to detect possible data breaches.'
Eleven staff members were dismissed in May as part of the investigation that was launched in 2025.
NHSE chief executive Sir Jim Mackey announced last month that snooping NHS staff would face immediate suspension.
In further news, meanwhile, Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, announced it is investigating two members of staff suspected of inappropriately accessing or attempting to access medical information related to William Chapman who died after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster.
A spokesperson said: ‘The trust has commenced an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding these potential breaches and the actions of these individuals. We have also reported this matter to the Information Commissioner's Office and we will continue to keep William's family informed as our investigation progresses.'
